I buy hobby/jumbo, too, and any other product outside of cards that I know I can flip. I wouldn't make a living off of just retail cards, no. But, it is possible to make profit on retail in the long run. The profit may not happen for a year or two. Trying to flip everything immediately is where most people lose.
In the past, I was one of those who would drive around for hours trying to find something. I do not do that anymore, because
most things can be purchased at retail cost or even below online.
