I thought I would share a look at the 10 Artballs® I provided the Transcendent Collection product, along with my approach to designing them.
For the past 19+ years I have only painted on new baseballs, in which I paint the entire surface of a baseball. I had never worked on a game used baseball before and wasn't sure at first how to approach painting them. I finally decided that the "game used" aspect of the ball (telling blemishes of bats just missing their mark and smudges of dirt stains throughout the surface) was to be the star of the show and that I would opt to paint on just one side (the cleanest one I could find on each ball) in order to accentuate the player who had a hand (or bat) in providing the canvas I was to paint on.
Because the canvases were unique to me, I decided to design all ten of them as if they belonged to one set. They are numbered as such below each image, T-MSAB # and then the date (month/year) in which they were painted. The "T" is for Topps, the "MSAB" is for Monty Sheldon Art Ball. They are numbered alphabetically via the players last name.
For the Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge baseballs, I painted the rookie card logo (RC) on each, making them the very first "official" rookie Artballs® in existence.
I hope whoever receives one of my Artballs® will get the chance to have the player sign the sweet spot at the top. I left it blank for that very reason.
