I don't think the WWE has any concern about having a balance between Raw and Smackdown whatsoever....
...but don't be so sure that Asuka is going to win. Why not let someone else win and allow Asuka a slow burn up the ladder, rather than hotshot her immediately? I could certainly see a Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch winning, and then going to WM.
Heck, don't forget about Ronda Rousey -- is she going to lose her first match? Why not put her in a WM title match to add to the star power of WM?
Frankly, there's no reason to allow Asuka to win just yet. I think you can count out Alicia Fox, Dana Brooke, and the 5 new callups from NXT (Paige's group and the Riot Squad) -- but everyone else would have a legitimate shot.
Nia Jax? She's now without a storyline, since Enzo's gone. Put her in a match against her frienemy, Alexa Bliss. Certainly a possibility.
A returning Mrs. Cena, Nikki Bella? The company feels they owe her, given what they're making off of her from Total Divas and merch sales, as well as longevity, and the fact that she's John's woman. If she's ready to come back physically, this is a great way to make a return.
Ember Moon - WWE has a history of calling up champs from NXT and having them win.
To me, the Women's RR is even more open than the men's. No reason Asuka has to win just yet.
