1948 Leaf #79 Jackie Robinson SGC 6.5 to SGC 7.5

Sold on 11/13/2017 as a SGC 6.5 by PWCC to whitman111 (Gary Moser) for $8,988.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 10/15/2018 as a SGC 7.5 for $41,336.00
Value gain of $32,348!

This card is so far the single biggest gainer in value for a Gary Moser altered card sold through PWCC. Prior to posting, I showed photos of the before and after to a veteran vintage dealer who looked at the card and confirmed that the "paper fibers that are natural to most Leaf cards" had been chemically bleached out. This bright white color is not natural to the 1948-49 Leaf set. According to the definitions on SGC's website, this card should have been completely rejected with the code B for bleached. SGC defines bleaching as a "generic term for the chemical process of cleaning or removing stains or dirt."

Furthermore, in green circles on Robinson's hat, you will notice two stray white marks on the SGC 6.5 card. These obviously have been partially colored over in the SGC 7.5 card. We've seen Moser's handiwork throughout this thread, and he is more than capable of such recoloring work, as demonstrated in many different cases.

Interestingly, as noted in the description on PWCC's website, this card was "recently assessed at this year's [2018] National Convention." That means it was provided to SGC raw, and in person. Who gave them this card? Was it Moser? Was it a staff member of PWCC? SGC should have the answer to this critical question. It will go a long way in determining who is responsible to refunding the unfortunate owner.

Red circles on the back and front are unique paper fibers. The green circles, as mentioned above, are areas that have been retouched with color. This is yet another Moser altered card that has received a special PWCC Premium Quality sticker.
