This Ty Cobb Green Portrait is the second of these iconic T206 cards brokered through PWCC we've discovered to be altered. (See
Post #1925.) This one is unusual because the corner was purposely made to look rounder, not sharper, by the card doctor. Perhaps this was to cover up a corner wrinkle or to make the card look more uniform and thus appealing to the grader's eye? In any case it is altered, and it was given one of PWCC's special stickers as well.
The blue squares show the corner where the dubious alterations were made. Red circles show printing flaws that prove the two Cobbs are the same exact card. Please note that once again a person involved in card alteration (potentially criminally so) bought a card from Robert Edward Auctions (REA), altered it or had it altered, graded it, and then sent it to PWCC for sale. I do not know who the purchaser of this card as an SGC 4 from REA was (although I have a hunch). However, a subpoena from the FBI could solve this mystery once and for all.
