1909 E90-1 American Caramel Joe Jackson PSA 1 to PSA 1 (w/ PWCC-S sticker)
Alteration types: Recoloring, chemically whitened

Sold on 11/15/2017 as a PSA 1 by Heritage Auctions to an unknown buyer for $10,800.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 3/11/2018 as a new PSA 1 for $13,101.01
Final price: $13,101.01
Value gain: $2,301.01!

This card was uncovered using one of CaptSpaulding's PSA submission recreation lists. The card doctor did not gain any ground with PSA despite his alterations. The card has clearly been soaked in chemical whiteners, as evidenced by the absence of natural discoloration in the corners in creases in the "after" versus the "before" pictures. Most disturbingly, however, the card doctor chose to lightly recolor a missing part of the graphic glove on the back of the card, as clearly shown in the third image below. This is considered a major alteration in the collecting community, and constitutes out-and-out fraud.

The red box highlights unique damage on this card, proving the two photos are the same exact card. Please note that this is the second iconic E90-1 Joe Jackson proven here on Blowout to be altered. The first was back in Post #2456, and was uncovered by member 3124508.
