Any serious 1948 Leaf collector who looks at that PSA 8 Frank Gustine would laugh at how small the borders are.

There's something I can't figure out, however. PSA has consistently demonstrated its willingness to grade extremely small cards for a favored group of submitters. So why didn't the card molester who trimmed the 1948 Leaf Frank Gustine just cut off a little more and get a grade of Gem Mint 10? Why stop at 1/16" inch when you could take off a full 1/8" and make the corners perfect?
