I'm no LeBron fan and don't exactly want to see him win a ring, but LBJ stuff aside I would still have a few concerns:
As a Jazz fan, if we jumped straight to the playoffs then that would be a more favorable matchup because I'd certainly rather play the Thunder than the Rockets. That is one reason you might think that I'd rather jump to the playoffs. However, if the players haven't been able to play much and then go straight to playoff intensity, we're gonna see a pretty sloppy first round. I'd like the teams to have a little bit of a mini training camp time like a few regular season games to get them into playoff mode. I'd also like to see Portland or the Pellies have an opportunity to make a run at the 8 seed.

Another thing that would worry me is the quarantine of positive players. Again, this would actually be a benefit of the Jazz since Rudy and Donovan have both tested positive for the 'rona already. But if players who test positive are required to sit, can you imagine how lame it would be if we got to the Finals and LeBron or Giannis can't play, even if they aren't showing symptoms? How about if Kawhi tests positive and so the Clips get upset before they even have a chance to face off against the Lakers?
If those kinds of situations occur, whoever wins the ship, whether it's LeBron or not, is going to seem like even more of an asterisk. If Anthony Davis got coronavirus and it helped the Jazz win a 2nd round matchup, it just seems kind of lame to me. More like winning the NIT.
