I think you’re right, sadly. And I think that’s dangerous. I think it’s important that people have an outlet from a constant barrage of negativity, just from a psychological standpoint. It doesn’t mean they don’t care. And even if they don’t care, they shouldn’t have to.
There are so many terrible things happening all over America and the world every day. There are child sex trafficking rings, child abuse to the point that it’s torture, an absurd level of inner city violence... and on and on. Caring about one doesn’t mean someone doesn’t care about the other, and wanting a break from all of it to unplug for a bit doesn’t mean someone doesn’t care either. Are we really at a point where constant negativity needs to be force fed to us until there are no negative events to discuss? We’ve set the bar at “impossible.”
