Not watching the debate but figured I would answer this. As I have stated before, yes we can have it both ways. When you deal with a pathological liar do you really expect people to trust him when something important does occur? Of course not. But that doesn't waive his responsibilities as president to try to handle the pandemic in a proper manner, even if it would have taken myself and many others some convincing he was actually doing what he was elected to do. Instead he continued to lie as usual. Trump figured why spoil his perfect record of ineptitude. So again, we see why it is important going forward to not elect a pathological liar as president, and that goes for democrats as well as republicans.
