Top Shot is the first of its kind.
my opinion after 2 weeks:
Collector + Daytrader + social media + fantasy sports + flipper + prospecting = success
If anyone here that is too strong in anyone element, the learning curve will take longer. I went into Topshot strong on the "collector" element (rookies and superstars mentality). What i did not take into consideration at the beginning was that Topshot had a lot of "daytrader" type users that do not follow the NBA like the longtime collector. I was confused as to why Lebron and the big names were getting exponential prices vs rookies. After watching videos on Youtube, i began to realize that many of the users are strong investors from many countries that are not fanatical NBA followers but making money on the internet due to various reasons we in USA do not take into consideration (we are very spoiled in the USA).
Another big factor is that in most cases the hardcore collectors are first to find a new product, wax, rookie or trend hitting the cardboard world so we all understand prices. But with Topshot , the hardcore collectors are in denial and entering the Topshot market after the Daytraders.
I can go on and on.
At this point i truly believe if a person throws everything out the window that they think they know best and be more balanced in all the elements i listed at the beginning, you will succeed .
This is just a very general opinion i have gotten over the last 2 weeks. Everything is generalized.
