The Topps logo is a foil stamp and the location can vary wildly. It should not be used as any type of marker.

You're right though that there should be a marker; however, their AI (really machine learning) models would need examples of perfectly graded cards to train their data. Likely multiple examples of every single card in every single set. I doubt they've done this. It is much more likely that they've figured out how to scan cards with a scanner, upload it into Photoshop (or something similar), and calculate the centering based on pixel counts. Until they show more about how their "AI" works, I won't be convinced.
