This always baffles me when I see stuff like this. The buyer of the PSA 10 that just sold for $840,000, probably could have put in an offer of $400,000 got it accepted (considering that these where just hovering around $200,000) and saved himself a cool $440,000.

This also is happening in the exploding video game market right now. Heritage Auctions sells a game for 6 figures (or 7 figures, the record breaking N64 Super Mario 64 sale for $1,560,000) and yet you see some really high graded copies of the games sold at Heritage Auctions for sale on EBay for a fraction of the price paid for at Heritage, just sitting.

Market manipulation/shenanigans at work here or what?!

Steve Cohen is pretty good at it in the art market.
