It also didnt help that the art used for probably about half of FUXM metals was pretty bad whereas the base set was quite nice. FUSM, by in large, had solid choices in art usage and a better cast of characters. As a die hard X-Men guy, I thought the metal sets were the worst common insert.
I think FUXM fell in an era where using Gambit was a no-no.
