Here's what I think is going on with the Chiefs: - Defense is terrible
- Running game is terrible
- Opponents are pulling out all the stops to beat them (using plays and schemes that they haven't shown on tape at all yet)
- Obviously KC knows this but still came out underprepared for the season - most likely they thought "hey we were fine last year, we'll be fine this year" but didn't realize how much teams would ramp up to prevent them from getting to 3 SBs in a row
I have no idea how they fix their defense (can they make a mid-season trade for a difference maker?) - but I have no doubt their offense will start clicking soon and it might start clicking at the right time with no lulls for the rest of the season (aka 2020 Tampa Bay). |
Teams are forcing them into long drives instead of the big plays. They have to string together long drives to score and haven't been able to at this point.
