While I was not on the Lamar train at first, I as well think he is a special type of player. If everything hit right he could make a couple Super Bowls and win one. With that said, he looks less explosive running this year. Not as fast or agile. This changes how to defend him. The league found out they need to blitz the crap out of him. Unlike Mahomes, Allen, Herbert etc. he does not do better when they blitz. Those guys will pick you apart, Lamar does not. Those guys have struggled with rushing 3-4 and playing 2 high shell.
Defenses have gotten better as the season goes on, this has been a constant for 4-5 years now. QB’s combined have all time high passer ratings through 4-6 weeks. Then all of a sudden they forget how to play for a month.
