If you're a football fan, waiting for the NFL version of Top Shot might be the best way to go. At least that way you will be starting on an even playing field, not one that's tilted to early adopters.

I’m sure there won’t be an even playing field. Beta will probably be invite first like NBA. I’ve been in TS way before collector score was a thing and sure anyone with an account had a chance to get a rare pack but the odds were about as good as winning Powerball and most of the packs went to bots. The current system is much better in my opinion even though I usually only qualify for tier 2 or 3 on those drops. I spent many days in queue for 8 hours in the past with pauses and stops and starts on queue to come away empty handed. It’s definitely not perfect now but I think the collector score system and other changes has at least leveled the playing field against bot accounts but maybe I’m naïve
