What if those days don't come back, though?

As much as I absolutely hate how some people complain after every dropped pass or tipped ball leading to an interception, damn, his receivers are dropping a TON of balls. BUT, like Collinsworth said last night, perhaps going back to the basics of QBing would be in his best interest. I brought up that point when in week 3 he through a no-look pass to a wide-open Marcus Kemp, that was thrown decently behind him, caromed off his back shoulder, and was intercepted. It's just not necessary. Of course, I was dismissed for a "bad take" but that narrative is now turning into reality.

In order to gain some context, I looked back at his college stats and I can see why he feels like a mustang who's trying to be tamed - he averaged 50 pass attempts per game in college. And get this, in a game vs. OU and Baker Mayfield he attempted 88 passes - eighty-eight! With that type of background and early success in the NFL doing the same thing, I can see why he's struggling through this adjustment. In the end, who knows how the Chiefs will retool after this year, but for right now, Mahomes has to play like Brady did in his first few years in NE. I'm just not getting the indication that he wants to. Which is fine for now because they're winning.

Good take.

They are winning and being carried by the defense I never thought EVER that the Chiefs defense would carry this team but this is clearly the case right now.

In regards to Patty, I don't know what to think. They had a great first drive last night that was 6+ minutes/12 plays 72 yards. They dinked and dunked and looked great. Then they just seemed to revert back to their old ways.

Patty's night? 15-29, 184 yards, 1 INT, passer rating 57.2

His total QBR over the last 6 games is 41.7---that's 20th in the NFL in that span.
