Everyone other than you seems to agree 2005 is the rookie card for Verlander. I've literally never even seen the argument made, as it's silly on its face. 2006 was the year the rules changed and things were still getting sorted out. The 2005 Verlander sells for a lot more because everyone agrees it is the actual rookie card.
