Most times the shilling is so obvious you don't need a subscription to anything.
I'm watching a guy right now with about 400 items for sale. He has a ton of accounts to shill every single auction. I've tried multiple thing just to check - ie. no bids on an item for hours/days, as soon as I bid, I get outbid. He has similar items listed for BIN - he's basically using the auctions to set prices on his BIN items. The second the auctions end, if he doesn't get his price they are relisted. Serial numbered items are ridiculously obvious. No one could even cancel in one second after the auction is over.
Unfortunately I feel like the guy they asked why he was playing in the crooked poker game. It's the only game in town...
