Why Indy does it: If Turner is leaving anyway, they get a 1st and some other picks with it, plus clear out McConnel's deal, who is a more valuable player to a team like Denver, and not needed for a young rebuilding team with multiple young PGs.

Why Chicago does it: If they're blowing it up, then half a year of Vuc has no value except to fill in salary in a swap, but Caruso has been elite defensively for years and could possibly bring back a talented but injured flier on MPJ - they would get picks and possibly swaps for taking on his contract. I think they could do a lot worse, and getting back a talent like MPJ is about as good as they could hope to nab for a guy like Caruso. He's also the type of gamble they should look for. Who really knows what value Lavine has - Derozan for sure will net them something, but likely not a quality young player.

Why Denver does it: West looks open, with possibly the Grizz being the main opponent standing in the way. Grizz might be a year away though, and with only 1 team looking that strong / in the way of a Finals berth, it should be worth the gamble of a couple 1sts and MPJ. The big possible setback is Malone.
