Sure, I've heard of Cal Ripken and Jose Canseco who were pretty much the faces of baseball at the time. But seeing those stats on the back of that card, I'd never seen someone dominate the league like that back when I was still a young kid. Needless to say, I thought Mike Schmidt must've been a baseball god. The above pics aren't mine. But I still have the original 1990 Donruss Schmidt that I had pulled from over 30 yrs earlier.
I loved this card as well. His career stats stack up with many of the greats. He didn't even get good until 24 too, which in this day in age is old to start smashing!
