Honestly, there's a lot of potential explanations (examples below but not just limited to these):
1. Inexperienced eBay seller who doesn't know how to navigate the platform and send messages
2. Has lots of active listings (not just on eBay) and forgot that you reached out about the card (or remembered someone reached out about the card but couldn't remember who it was)
3. Thought that you were trying to scam him off-eBay (for whatever reason) so didn't feel comfortable selling to you

1. I definitely sensed some inexperience, but seller has some ebay feedback already.
2. No other listings on ebay.
3. I can understand the hesitancy there to avoid a scam. But again, why not take my offer for more on ebay instead of selling the next day for less. my initial offer on ebay was before the twitter interaction.
Seller could have just said "I'd rather sell on the ebay platform for security, go make me an offer for $xyz on ebay and I'll accept".
