As someone who buys cards to grade, I have had much better success buying from small sellers on eBay. You pay a premium for any of the big sellers for vintage cards on eBay because of the trust people have with them. Saying that, I put a lot of time and effort into getting the best card for the money. A lot of people don't have the time and just want a quality card from a company that they trust and has great customer service.

Some vintage collectors also HATE grading. They would rather just get a card from GM that they trust the "grade" and not deal with PSA/BGS/SGC etc... Personally, I would rather buy a graded card from SGC/CSG because I know how they grade, and you can get a darn good card from those slabs over the inflated PSA prices. That is how I collect, and people will probably think I am a fool.
