It's not unreasonable given that prices for Miami matches have gone through the roof specifically because people want to see Messi play.
If you're paying $500 for a $50 ticket specifically to see Messi play, then wouldn't you be angry if he unexpectedly didn't play?
It's the same reason that the NBA is trying to reduce "load management"....people get pissed when they pay inflated ticket prices to see a superstar play and then he decides to "rest".
Your argument only makes sense if ticket prices for Messi games are the same as tickets for non-Messi games, which they most definitely are not.
