Inflation on food is at a two year low in the US, it's dropping in the UK. I'm not surer they are really overriding issues in people buying (or not buying) cards.

Finances will play a part for sure, but I think we're missing the elephant in the room - most products are total garbage, thousands of people got burnt hard or ripped off by conmen, and malaise has set in.
This. OMG, I have to be honest here, but I read your comment before seeing your handle, and I can't believe it, but I totally agree with you. Maybe the sky is falling!? Not.
