To your point, that should have been the play. I am not sure if it was McDermott/Brady getting lost in the moment so much as Allen though because on 2nd and 9 the underneath play was there to be made, but they got greedy for sure. And the funny part about it is, they were doing a great job of eating clock until that point of the drive, even without a run game to lean on.

Also, since someone else brought this up, I agree that KC missed an opportunity by not falling on the Bills fumble earlier in that drive, however, fumbles are all 50/50 anyway and Kincaid made a great play to prevent KC from recovering. As far as the “almost” interception though. I don’t know about that one. It wasn’t as close as it looked on the replay. McDuffie got one arm on the ball. Looked like a break up more than anything else.

Anyway, I remember when we got down to the KC 25, first and 10, I text my best friend (Raiders fan) “this feels too good to be true” and he agreed. It all went down hill from there.

Ah… the life of a Bills fan. We are always right there with you, and have proven fully capable of beating KC, but not when it matters most. The Lb injuries were devastating and the reason I thought we would lose that game beforehand. Will be interesting to see how the Chiefs look vs an elite defense next week. It’ll definitely be tougher sledding than Bills injury depleted defense, but it remains to be seen if Lamar and co can move as effectively vs your great defense as Allen and the Bills did (through 3 quarters anyway). Good luck.
Yeah, the Mcduffie INT would have been tough, the easier one would have been if Mcduffie didn't touch the ball and Sneed was waiting right there.

Everyone wants to talk about the Bills defense missing, what, 3 starters, 2 of which hadn't played since September. But the Chiefs were down 3 starters as well, in Gay, Nnadi, and Mike Edwards. Or Brian Cook if you prefer, which also meant they were starting a 3rd string free safety.
