If you took all the USWNT players and stuck them on 2-3 teams in the NWSL like England and Spain are doing instead of them all being spread out among 14 teams you'd see a much better team. The Spanish women's team is essentially Barcelona and Real Madrid weirdly similar to what happened with the men's team in 2010 that was so dominant for years. The English team is pretty much all current or former players for Manchester City, ManU, Chelsea and Aston Villa. By comparison the USWNT players played on 9-10 NWSL teams.

The US league's parity in club soccer will be their downfall. These other teams are playing together nearly 24/7/365. You aren't going to compete with that if your players are all spread out and not getting as much playing time together as other teams are.
