They’re not wrong. That was always my biggest knock against Tatis and Julio although Tatis seems to be figuring it out. Massive hacks against great pitchers when down in the count usually isn’t the best strategy. Even the best hitters in the game fall into this because hitting MLB pitchers is freaking HARD.
Swing to kill in advantageous counts and then take calculated risks with your hacks depending on the situation. The thing about Judge is I think he has so much power to spare that he actually does better when he is sitting centerfield or even right-center and he still has the bat speed to adjust in.
A lot of guys have to put forth way more effort to generate the power to get it over the wall. When Judge is on, he reminds me of prime Pujols putting balls out to the opposite field even with relative ease.
