I was laughing at the Fields crowd when the Steelers had the hot start and everyone was pointing to Fields as the driver of the success when in reality he was just keeping the ship afloat until Russ got back.
I will admit this is the closest I have been to being part of the "unrealistic Bears Fans" that was mentioned. If I had to plant my flag at a certain point in time to take a bold stance, I think it is now. I believe in Ben Johnson and Caleb is 1000% bought in. The FO is making the right moves by building the trenches and I couldn't be more aligned with the moves being made. Even with all being said, I still remain cautious of a letdown.

To be fair to the "Keep Fields" divide. It wasn't just so much keeping him, it was a combo of that (letting him progress as a pro) and then trading the #1 in 2024 (Caleb should have gotten a higher price then Young drew in 2023). And then use that bounty of picks for years to come.
The fact that Fields didn't grow, even behind a better line in Pittsburgh. And a real HC. And that the Bears would most likely be in a Packer situation with Love. Overpaying in the hopes that one day he would be elite. And the fact that there is no "WOW" player in this draft, to have used those picks on if they did trade out. Makes it easy to say the Bears made the right move.
