For this particular break I was involved in. The breaker basically auctions off teams through live bidding. There is a wheel spin per person that won each bid to determine which team they will get for that break. In this instance, I luckily won the Angels. Of course we do not know what team will have the case hit, so it's all chance.
Also, the breaker states the floor and ceiling for each card and how many cards will be in the break. Makes it fun and definitely gets your heart pumping through it all. I definitely got lucky because no one knows (sometimes even the breaker as they claimed) what the big card is.
There was another break similar to this where the ceiling of the case hit was between $30k-$35k, last team on board was the Angels. Bidding went as high as $9k, and I thought long and hard whether to participate in it. I probably should have placed some bids because the card was a 2018 Bowman Ohtani BGS 9.5 true blue refractor auto /150
