I would offer up the explanation that they are doing "okay" on the grounds that Marvel Card collectors seem to thirst for a set at some given rate higher than DC but lower than Baseball. Probably on par with Star Wars?
My point is, they seem to be pretty restrained on releases which is an easy path to success with such a demand. Even when UD went nuts and released sets too close to other sets ... what was it Gems in 2016 and Women of Marvel in 2024? Or in general too many sets like that, they landed poorly but strangely eventually found some value. Sure, the Shang Chi set was DOA and should remain DOA but ... let's hold the accolades until Topps is forced to release Wandavision Season 2 one month after Antman & The Wasp: The Hungry Caterpillar.
