I would imagine jambalayas, sort of like PMGs, transcend the specific set they’re in and there’s a wider audience for them. Compared to XYZ insert of FUW Wolverine which is local to that set.

And I’m sure of it has to do with the prestige of the jambalaya inserts in late 90s basketball, just like the PMGs. Also the more recent Jamba’s in marvel probably are riding some of the popularity of the 13-15 Retro marvel jambas which were actually quite rare and go for a lot. That’s my guess. But there seems to be a dedicated group of collectors who like the jambas across all the sets and view them as valuable.
