The issue for KD is that the perception is that he's never led a team to a title.
Yes, he won two titles with the Dubs (and was Finals MVP both times), but that was a team that had already won a title without him, so he doesn't get much credit for helping them win those two titles.
And then the fact that he subsequently failed to even get to the Conference Finals with the Nets or Suns, let alone win a title, damages his reputation even further.
So IMHO, the perception of his career will probably be closest to someone like Barkley, who led one team to the Finals but lost, or maybe Karl Malone.
