That's the first thing I noticed in STL as well. Just seems like a completely different person. I think it's partly because now people care more about how neon Kemp's shoes are than Hanley's OPS (not that I have an issue with Matt Kemps footwear). Which is what H2R (err H13R?) really needs. As well as a manager like Mattingly that isn't afraid to tell him he's wrong.
Hopefully they can work out the kinks in his swing, and he'll back to .300 in no tome. Here's to hoping!

I'll admit it, I loved him on the Marlins, but there was just too much baggage. Loria's love for him and then hate for him is probably the worst thing for a player. I dunno if I'll ever get used to #13 though, so weird not seeing 2.
The way I see it, is it's like a superstar prospect, and he never gets the right hitting coach and he never makes it halfway to his potential. It seemed that they could never get the right guy to reignite the fire, and for some reason I think they guy that needed to change was Loria/Samson and not some random slew of different managers/hitting coaches every 3 months. I think the 3B thing was what completely doused the proverbial "fire" we're referring to. There was no going back after that, Just started the hourglass on his playing time there. I dunno what they're doing with that team now (Go Giancarlo, though.
