The Marlins want to keep him also, that is why they are asking so much ( I read somwhere that they wanted Profar or Olt+more).
If we did get Profar, that is a good problem to have when you have 2 amazing SS's. We'd figure it out.
Thinking about it, Dee makes so many friggin errors I can see him moving to the outfield next year. I'd love Hanley at short, and I think he would also.
That rotation is a lot of ifs, but is very possible. Nolasco can stay until we find a replacement, he is very inconsistent, but has good stuff. LoMo's tweeting is 100% unproffesional. I cant think of any other athlete that says stuff like he does on a daily basis, and doesnt get abused by all sports media. If he can focus, I can see 275 with 20 HRs which is a solid piece of a team. Don't forget he is only 24.

I agree about JJ, it's all in his mechanics. I saw him pitch in Philly earlier this year, and it just wasn't the same. When he's on, he can literally be a dominating two pitch pitcher with his slider. He just has to get his timing and movement right, which seems to be an issue for whatever reason.
As far as two SS's, isn't that what you said with Hanley and Jose? Two All star SS's can't be a bad thing..... Oh wait, ooops.
Don't get me wrong, I was just as excited as anyone for that right side of the infield, but I would be a bit more cautious on the 2 SS front.
That's what Mattingly's issue is, if Hanley can hit like Hanley while playing short, it's his job to lose. Dee doesn't have as good of an arm, and he's not really better defensively, no reason not to try it. Although, Hanley said he's not ready, he's taking grounders at short everyday though.... Can you imagine having Gordon-Kemp-Ethier?

Normally, you'd look at that rotation, and be excited, but with that front office, I can't help but think they're gonna trade Turner/Eovaldi in 2 years for a veteran guy on his way out.... They seem to switch from preparing for the future, to let's go get it now. And it absolutely devastates their farm system each time.... It's really tough to watch, and you feel for Marlins fans. At least the Cubs are putting an effort forth with their prospects....
If Lomo can focus. He's a very, very good 5 hitter. And I mean that in a good way. But I think his focus might be the biggest IF on the team, now that Hanley is gone.
I guess you gotta look at the bright side, and say that the future is just that, bright. But if I were a die hard Marlins fan, I'd be very weary of potential moves where we lose it all again. It seems they rip out your heart, put in a pacemaker, and then rip that out later....
