And who is questioning his work ethic? I don't think I've heard anyone involved bring that up.
No doubt he could run, but wasn't one dimensional... he could throw the ball too.
I agree... after 2 serious injuries he needs a little time to get back to form. And the lack of O-line is not helping him at all.
Look at his rookie year numbers.... they don't lie. He had a great season. If he doesn't suffer any other injuries, I think he remains a legit starter... the question is with what team?

He was GOOD his rookie season, the numbers don't scream 'great' and they are skewed by two things - the threat of the read option keeping defenders cautious, and a ridiculous proportion of long/fluky/thrown up for grabs TDs. I remember watching a few games and wondering how some of those balls weren't picked off. Lady luck was on his shoulders that season. I'm too lazy to look up stats, but I would be surprised if 6-8 of those TDs were longer than 30 yards - if you turn luck against him and change those to interceptions his numbers aren't that impressive. A good comparable is the 2 picks Nick Foles threw in 2013 - completely lucky and unsustainable. Against Green Bay alone Foles had two up for grabs balls that should have been picked but turned into TDs. In 2014 defenses are no longer afraid of the read option and are teeing off on RG3, because he does not read progressions quickly enough he is making the types of decisions that get you benched. Throw in the mega ego and loss of the locker room (if it's as bad as the media makes it to be), and you have a guy who won't have a job in three years...
