Cubs land Harden

As always it is going to depend on how healthy he is but if he pitches every 5 days I like the deal.

I can't ever get a link to work but the deal is Harden and Gaudin to Cubs for Murton, Gallagher, Patterson and John Donaldson.

Wow, that is a huge deal for the cubbies. Not only is Harden out of his mind when healthy, but Gaudin in the NL will be more than servicable. Looks like the old town team want it this year.

i dont think this was a good trade for the a's the only very good prospect is josh donaldson and the rest are borderline mlb players

this make the cubs the big favorites to win the nl, hopefully we see a cubs yankees world series and hopefully we see the yankees beat them in 4

I'm pissed to lose Murton and Patterson myself, especially when patterson was getting hot.

Hot compared to what? He reminds me to much of his brother. They need to learn to hit the ball on the ground and run instead of swinging big all the time.

When I saw the trade I got out of my couch and was very confused? They traded Harden and another good pitcher for what? Billy bean is not an idiot, so I would not be surprised to see 1 of those 2 prospects to be the next great superstar. Bean is not an idiot, he is a genuis, right now he looks like an idiot, but lets see in 5 years what happens to Harden, maybee Bean thinks he will have a career injury like a Prior or Wood player and wanted to get rid of him now before he couldn't get anything?

I believe the Cubs got a steal...... Like others have said I dont think Beane is an idiot but I am not sure what he was thinking with this one. He gets another OutFielder in Murton. even though he has Sweeney, Gonzalez and Buck.... Marshall- I dont think many people outside of Chicago think he is a star in the making-
Patterson is a utility player/fringe minor star at best so do you really trade Harden for Donaldson.... seems like the A's got hosed

of course I am a Brewers fan so I am a bit biased even though I do like Rich Harden

Maybe contract $$ plays into effect? And/or they've got plans/ideas of dealing a few of the guys they got off for another trade?
