Default Which card(s) do you think will tank in the next 5 years?

In the life of collecting there are cards which for one reason or another are heavily sought after, and then become nearly worthless years later after.

For example, I'm thinking the 2000 Bowman Grady Sizemore auto, or the 2003 Bowman Chrome Delmon Young auto. These were once selling in the triple digits.

What are your predictions for cards which will become infamous in the next 5 years?

This!

If I had to name one card I think Pete Alonso investors are going to get a rude awakening

Acuna. So sell to me now for 75% current value and save yourself the heartache.

I'd vote pretty much all of them too, including Trout stuff. By then, he'll be in 33-34, and people will be onto the next new shiny objects, regardless of his stats.

Was going to say this but held off. Would not be surprised if this happens

Everything but vintage, Griffey Jr, Jeter, Ichiro, and Trout. To keep value, people have to consistently desire the cards and few stars have that staying power. Hell, Pujols is a top 5 hitter of all time and look at how his stuff is trending.

A decline happened to Pujols, so i wouldn't doubt it.

None of this is really answering the question though. I think these cards will still retain some decent value, but i don't see Trout Cards tanking, nor Pujols.

95% of cards wont tank, because 95% of cards are already in the tank.

Which cards are selling for $100+, which will be worth $10 or less in 5 years.

Extenuating circumstances for Pujols though. Leaving the Cards plus injuries made him an afterthought despite the career numbers.

90-95% of all BC FY autos over $100 from the last 5 years- basically everyone not a perennial all star/MVP candidate.

To answer my own question, i am going to say Joey Bart.

His 2019 Bowman Chrome auto will be selling for half or less in 5 years.

I agree. Call your shot. Name a name. Nobody wants to be the one who has their prediction be wrong.

By biggest % of drop from now to 5 years from now I’ll say Franco.

Pujols Bowman Chrome Auto is still his most desirable and sought after card, that will never go down. I think the Trout version is on the same level. Trouts other cards like 2011 Updates, well, they could take a hit imo.

He is old(for hobby), poor defense, and his only thing is hitting homers when everyone else is hitting homers
