Default Michael Jackson

To keep up with the theme that seems to be the hot topic of the week....music...I figured I'd post a poll to see what everyone thought of Michael Jackson.

The more I talk to people the more it seems to be a generational thing, although I could be wrong. The younger crowd sees him as a child molester, the middle aged crowd sees him as a little bit of both and the older crowd sees him as a great artist.

So the question is: Where do you fall?

I agree with this although I lean toward a great artist if I had to pick one.

I don't know what to believe. I watched a show on it some years ago. It was reported that the 1st victim to come forward reported Jackson was circumcised but his autopsy report said otherwise.

Does anyone else think he DIDN'T father his "kids". Has it ever been proven? Heard it hasn't.

Until it's proven that he was a molestor, to me he was a tremendously talented and troubled man.

One of the greatest talents to have lived. One of the last superstars. No one has come near his level of fame in the 80s.

How many of you parents would let your kids hang with him at the Neverland ranch? Can we get a poll for this question?

i'll be totally honest, i voted 2nd option. I never really got into his music as a kid (or an adult). I can recognize the greatness now, but it's still tarnished by the "first" impression I got of him.

one of the greatest pop artists of a generation, possibly all time. he was revolutionary in his music, performance, paved the way for a lot of artists i believe

personal demons are personal demons, he was clearly troubled by a lot, much i blame on his childhood/upbringing

There was no bigger MJ fan than I in the late 80's. I even had the red jacket and a glove. Yes, I was a dork as a pre-teen, still am but I digress.

Without a doubt Michael was one of the most influential and amazing performers of all time. He also was most likely a child molester as much as I hate to say that. I'm conflicted when one of his songs come on the radio, I don't know if I should sing along or change the station.

"Do you think Michael Jackson is guilty of the charges against him?"

Can't be a great artist without being a little screwed up.

Elvis.
Michael.
Whitney.
Prince.

Average age at death is for the whole group is just under 50 years old.
Too many needless medications readily available to them and no one to tell them no.

All were great. Prince had the weakest voice in the quartet probably, but was the most complete, talent-wise, since he wrote and produced all of his own songs and played most of the instruments.
An amazing group, all gone far too soon. It's no accident they were each known by one name long before they died.
