Default 2018 Topps Now Platinum Members Summit

Dear Platinum Members,

Topps is excited to announce our first Platinum Members Summit in New York City at the Topps office. The summit will take place on March 9th. There will be cocktails and dinner the night before on Thursday, March 8th (location TBD)
At the Summit event, we will be unveiling all of the Platinum benefits for the 2018 season and provide you with the first look at new Topps NOW initiatives planned for the 2018 season. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take a tour of the office, have a Q&A with Topps employees, and meet other Platinum Members.

Topps will provide the hotel for Thursday night, March 8th. Unlike the All-Star event, this will only be an event for Platinum members (no guests). It is important to note that this event is in addition to the All-Star event which will do again in 2018.

Please RSVP by February 8th if you plan to attend the Summit

Itinerary

Thursday, March 8th

Cocktails/Dinner: 6:00-9:00 PM (location TBD)

Thursday, March 9th

Summit event: 9:30am-2:00 PM (Topps offices in Manhattan)

Best Regards,

The Topps NOW team

If anyone needs a substitute for attending the summit, I live in Connecticut (closer to New York) and will be more than willing to go for you

Manhattan does sound like a bit more fun than Atlanta

And I had a lot of fun in Atlanta...though I will be brining the wife (not to the events) but to make a weekend of it...Just think if she would have came to Atlanta with me; I might remember more!

Not sure if they will do substitutes either but even if they don't maybe we can have a gathering in NY anyway... <--not an eye roll more of a looking for ideas for a possible Aluminum Member Summit. Either way post questions and ideas you'd like answered or brought at the Platinum Summit and if I have an opportunity I will bring them up.
Does seem more like this is a what we are doing summit and not a place for ideas to be discussed but it can't hurt!

Will be nice to meet the rest of the Freds!

I signed up! Always wanted to visit their office.

Now to balance out time off for family non-baseball travel, DC for the ASG and Cleveland for the National.

2018 is going to be FUN!

I've said this over and over on the Topps Now thread, so I suppose "Jeeves" have seen them already, but please address this once again at the summit.

===
Don't place the autograph cards in one touch.
Use penny sleeves and toploader and seal them with the topps sticker.

But for any reason if they need to continue with one touch, make sure that the card is placed well where it is supposed to.
If the edges are damaged due to the misplacement of card in one touch, be willing to replace the card instead of giving the "BGS 8 qualifies for minimum quality" crap.

Aluminum Member's Pre-Summit:
So Lisa was in DC just before the events in NY so I decided to show up a day early. So Double Tree Hotel bar on 8 Stone Street NY NY at about 8PM baring flight delays will be where you will find me. I'll take notes for the upcoming Summit and make sure all get passed along. I'll wear my Topps Now shirt...JJM

I forgot we had this thread open. Jeeves replied back and despite the look of 10-12 inches of snow coming tomorrow, the Summit is still on.

I am arriving Thursday late morning if my flight is on time, then heading to check in or drop off my stuff. I'll do some sightseeing for a few hours then head to The Dead Rabbit for the Thursday night meetup.

There was talk on the 17/18 TN Boards of an afterparty, so post away on there for those who can make it or suggestions where to dig in.

For Friday, I have an 8pm flight out if on time too, so I may get a bite to eat after the summit before heading to the airport.

How does everyone's itineraries look?

Feedback /question to pass along ...

This may be too specific of a comment / feedback and a first world problem, but as a team focused collector (Cubs) I would like to see more variety in the autos / relics for a team.

Base relics are great and will continue to be appropriate for many of the games. I was happy to see jersey, socks, and ball relics last year - I hope more of that continues.

I love Kris Bryant, but a Kris Bryant RTOD auto at this point is ... meh. (Still waiting for him to sign post season sets from last year too). Same with Baez, Rizzo, Contreras, Happ, Heyward, and Russell. I loved seeing Wade Davis auto last year. I would love to see Epstein, Maddon, Lester, Hendricks, Darvish, Morrow this year ... or anyone else (priced appropriately). Are they looking at ways to mix it up for teams that have been blessed with a lot of autos to date?

SoCal,
I will be traveling with another Platnium Member as I offered my house for him to stay for a few days to beat the snow on Wednesday...It's great cause we never met but spoke for two years...Bought a great Bottle of CROWN ROYAL that we will end up bringing..

I don't know if anyone wants to go to another place or stay at the Dead Rabbit

I am game with the Bunny Bar as it looks like it's small enough they probably rented it out and we'll have good real estate once our timeslot ends. But if anyone knows anything close to the tip of Manhattan, I'd be game. Our 3 destinations of hotel, office and bar are all a block or two away from each other, so it is nice to be contained to the area in the snow.

Will be heading in tomorrow evening at the double tree, and staying a day early and through the weekend with Lisa so we are game for just about anything. I was thinking since we get in about 8 a night cap would be had at the hotel the first night and see where that goes. Maybe just shoot the #@#@#@#@ about Now cards. Since there is no plus 1 at the Dead Rabbit might just be a guys night but with a 930 start time Friday an old guy like me is not going to be running around town to all hours of the morning and show up all hung over. Its not like my moral compass says no...it’s the body that can’t do it. Perhaps a few drinks back at the hotel afterwards would be cool...if the Dead Rabbit is just not the place to talk Now cards!

Just staying after dinner is cool too.
