It's a reference to a video game called Metal Gear Solid. The protagonist and antagonist are twin brothers named Solid Snake and Liquid Snake, respectively. There's a whole lot else to it other than that but that's it in a nutshell lol.

Love Amen, love the Metal Gear reference, and cool cards!

Fun player, too pricey for me tho. I prefer guys where I can get a silver prizm for $5

I haven't seen them that cheap in a while. Nowadays typically they go for around $15-25.

I just OBOd a couple that were listed at 15. Let’s see if I can snag em.

I recently picked up 2 genesis (one base and one city), 2 optic checkerboard, 1 optic jazz and 1 Premium stock Net Marvels amongst probably 50ish more. Got a few nice Cam Whitmores too. His stuff has dipped so much that I got a Cracked green ice Prizm for .99 and an optic green glitter /77 for around 12 bucks.

I love your pick ups, you plan on getting anything else? I’m not huge on downtowns but that one is SICK. Well done.

Definitely, still have a bunch of SSPs I wanna pick up. Court kings level 4, color blast, stained glass, micro mosaic, slammy, genesis like you mentioned. Also looking to get a true NT rpa if/when they start popping up and a flawless as well. So yeah still a ways to go lol.

I also kind of want to start putting together a prizm rainbow but that's lower down on the priority list since I think gold and black will be really hard to get (if not impossible).

I'll also probably keep accumulating some easier to sell stuff (like silver prizms) to flip later on.

The Aurora looks nice. Is that SSP and popular?

Gotta respect players who respect the legacy of auto RPAs and still sign.

It's one of the case hits from court kings

It's pretty popular, I'd say it's in the middle ahead of paint by numbers and state of the art but below the level four rookie and the blank slate

Am I allowed to give him the nickname Double Double? Hardly ever seen him play.

I promise to remember that whenever you talk about X thing that Double Double did, you are talking about Amen Thompson on the Houston Rockets

Stole that move from ninja "Luther" cookies. But thanks.

Interesting thing though, if they last long enough the player ultimately controls the narrative of what they want to be called. If I was an NBA player I wouldn't want that name. Reminds me of GI Joe or, as I mentioned, wrestling. Even knowing the story and how there is probably some specific applicability, backstory, much like Grant Williams naming out each Celtic as an MU character, I don't care for video games, particularly first-person shooters.

I remember they foisted "crash" on Nesmith in Boston because he was literally going so fast in the early days that less athletic players and vets with multiple injuries to play over couldn't keep up and would do some bone headed move, get hobbled. In Indiana, he changed the narrative to Double A and, with Ty's help, that positive monicker stuck. Now AA merely looks at most players not named Brunson and they respect him on the court.
