Default Ebay Suspends 20,000 Sellers PERMANENTLY

Why you ask? For S&H charges mainly. Alot of the sellers did nothing wrong but the new DSR ratings got them permanently GONE. I believe i am in danger also as i have had 8 (1's) in S&H in the last 3 months. I CHARGE only $2 to ship. How the heck does that deserve a 1? Well to all the BUYERS out there giving 1's & 2's GOOD LUCK BUYING those low end cards on ebay to fill your sets. The days of buying low end cards on ebay are OVER. I am now FORCED to offer Free S&H on all my auctions because of a few buyers who just dont understand S&H. How can you leave a low S&H rating when you knew what the S&H charge was BEFORE you bought the item?? Ebay wants out of the Card business and its obvious. On the bright side places like this will be a great place to pick up your cards at a great price because the days of saying "Well its selling for $$ on ebay" ARE OVER. I will stay in the hobby but my CASE busting Days ARE OVER. I called my distributor today and told them i will no longer need to be called for preorders and i will call them if i need anything else in the future. I think all of our current cards we own are worth less today than they were yesterday. THANK YOU FEEBAY!!

Doesn't this just help COMC tho? I still can't get over how amazing that site is and kick myself for taking this long to try it out.

How did you start w/ COMC; what cards did you send in first time. I have literally thousands of inserts/rookies/#'d parallels that I was thinking of sending in.

Would like to see documentation of claim if available; given how ebay abuses its sellers, wth would they want to get rid of them instead of keeping them around to exploit - doesn't quite add up....

COMC is fine for your low low end cards but with them raising prices it will not be worth it. And after all this you would be crazy to think COMC will not raise the rates again shortly.

Hmmmm darn!!!!!! Glad ebay isn't my source of income or my business. I'll still buy cards off ebay & I'll still pay as high as $3.00 for PC cards or trade bait cards cause I understand the cost associated with shipping such as BMs, toploaders & most likely a DC#. I also give 5 stars all the way down on their DSR. If ebay it phuckin sh?t up like this then I'll never try to sell a card on their site again!! I'm in the process of tryin to get my own site for my unwanted cards & others cards so we'll see how that comes about. Sorry that the rippin/flippin isn't working for everyone!!!

I think alot of the hits on DSRS for shipping are when you don't get what you're charged for. Somone charges me $3.00 for shipping, and I see the paypal label shows a weight of 1oz, you're getting dinged. Better yet, the other day I paid $2.75 for shipping on one card, that came in a padded envelope with 2 regular stamps on it. Seller got dinged

If you're charging x for shipping, you better be shipping for or close to that same x

So I assume you don't take into consideration the cost of bubble mailers, toploaders or any tape/stick glue to place the label or the printing paper to print the label???

thats why there's that option to "not show postage value on label" in paypal shipping

While I semi agree with you, dinging the person across the board is unacceptble given the info provided. Once again this actually is a problem ebay created. There are no gudielines for this.

I will leave feedback differently than you, or anyone else up here. If the seller shipped within 24 hours, can you really ask for anything more? For 2.75 I wouldnt be really happy, but in Colbys case I'm not dinging them from 5 to 1, really isnt fair. 2 bucks to ship a card is more than fair. You've got 1.41 into just costs, before you factor in supplies, much less try to get any handling. But we're talking being rated a 1 for $2 shipping...thats hard to swallow.

yes your example is an extreme, but dinging sellers if their shipping charge is not within x% of the postage is totally unreasonable. first, there's the tangibles like the bubble mailer (could cost anywhere from 30cts to $1 depending on where the seller buys), bubble wrap/insulation/team-bag, etc. Then, there's the intangibles...namely HANDLING.

it is not right for you to ding sellers if their shipping charge is not "close" to postage, as postage is only one compoenet of the shipping charge...this is what MOST buyers who give low DSR's for shippping don't understand (although sometimes as in your extreme example with the white envelope and 2 stamps, it is warranted - alot of times it is not).

Please do, the over 2300 feedback between 2 accounts and being a powerseller with 4.9's and 5's in my DSR's won't cause me to lose one ounce of sleep

You mean the top loader that most cards are already sitting in before being listed on ebay? You've already paid for that

Tape, buy a 5 pack roll for $2.50 that .50 a roll, once again something you probably have in the house either way, so you've paid for that already

Bubble mailers, pack of 5 at walmart for $2.44. Giant expense there as well

Paper, buy an 80 ct package for $4.29, that 6 cents for one print job

My cost of doing business, and don't think it's anything other than business, does not get passed along to my buyers. My 4.9 DSR for S&H must mean I am doing something right

It's really like anything else in life. If I'm being charged for anything, if I am not getting what I am paying for, then in one way or another it'll be dealt with. Be it taking my business elsewhere, cancelling an account, etc...

How do you account for the handling fee which sellers are also allowed to add insurance costs?

This house cleaning by Ebay was a tad drastic in my opinion. People that had no negatives were suspended from Ebay. I've said it before, and I will say this again. The DSR system is flawed. This is allowing competitors to purchase items from your account, leave low DSR and now cause members to be suspended. This is BAD! VERY BAD!!!

Seriously, thats just stupid. You see the shipping costs $3.00. You still decide to buy said card. You get your card sent with DC in a bubble mailer, with penny sleeve, top loader, team bag - and you get it nice and fast. But wait - you see that the label says $1.58, so you give the seller a 1? Why the #@#@#@#@ would you do that? Just to be a douche?

I tend to agree with gman here. It seems like many sellers want to use their shipping charges to boost their actual selling price. If I see a $3.00 shipping charge and agree to it, there should be $3.00 worth of shipping service- bubble mailers, toploaders, team bags, DC, etc. Trying to incorporate paper, ink, time etc. into the shipping cost are either sunk costs you already have or just small costs you have to assume as part of selling on eBay. There are actually two separate deals to an eBay sale: the price I pay for the item and the price I pay for the seller to ship the item. Too many are trying to scrimp on the shipping to keep a few cents.
