Default Large number of fraudulent purchases, be aware.

Sorry for the long drawn out explanation, but wonder if anyone else has this buyer hitting them up. There are AT LEAST 50 purchases this year, with the same address.

So I though I posted about this before but can't find it, when I contacted eBay they said ship it, even though it was 11 different users. So the address below is the same address from a few months ago. The buyer attached to this uses multiple accounts to buy $1 cards. EVERY user appears to be an inactive account from 2005-2016 where the most if not all purchases are from the same sellers and are the only recent purchases. This same address/buyer bought around 50 cards from me over this past year, all going to this address with either one of those two names but the same "BON 1058." I have cancelled every single one of these and never heard from a single person about it or received negative feedback. Most recently there were 11 purchases made, baseball and NASCAR racing card, previous the buyer bought 1992 Silver Surfer cards, all with different user names.

BON 1058 LeTu / Bon1058 ThanhTu
6190 SW Arctic Dr
BEAVERTON
OR 97005-9448

So if you notice this address don't bother shipping, I am pretty sure it's some who is using stolen credit card info, buying low end stuff to see if they work,

Maybe it's just a reshipper address? A brief lookup, doesnt look like residential, rather commerical type.

If a reshipper, then this wouldnt be fraudelent CC etc, it's common for multiple different buyers to come up as the same address.

I agree, it is a reship company, but the BON 1058 (BON1058) is the same, which I assume is how they know who to forward it to. Plus the LeTu & ThanhTu are always associated with all the purchases, so it's odd to me that 11 people who have old accounts and haven't bought anything in years, all bought from the same listing with the same forwarding service with same or similar box/buyer attached to the address. Also if you look at the date, they were all bought the same day and minutes apart. There are way too many coincidences for this to be legit, especially since I have 50+ of these, cancelled every one, and never had anyone contact me.

This has happened to me a ton the past couple of years as well. I just mark shipped and move on. I am pretty sure these are fake accounts used to pimp up big Asian electronic/comsetic sellers. If these accounts have received feedback it's from a lot of the same sellers. I was told to block them but you can't block new IDs that keep popping up.

(A big clue is that they generally buy the first card of a random listing of yours if you do variations)

they're building up fake accounts so they can list some bigger items that they will never ship, and not scare bidders off by being a brand new zero feedback account.

Welp another fake purchase.

Account created 2018, no purchases. Just keeps happening. Anyone else out there find any of these? eBay still no help.

That address is a reshipper. I have sent many items to that address and no issues. I would never bat an eye at it.

Well I have cancelled everyone because the buyer's ID at the address is always the same but uses a bunch of different accounts that sit idle for years before they just pop up. I guess I could just ship em and pocket the money, but just feels wrong when nothing about it makes sense. I have sold to reshippers before, but this one is just fishy.

You would be doing nothing wrong. Just cover your bases and once its delievered you are covered if you are worried about buyer using stolen payment methods that is on the processor not the seller as long as your bases are covered.

I think you are right, I mean payment was processed, I haven't had cases opened, I brought it to eBay's attention, I am just losing money and time by not shipping at this point.

As others have stated, it is a re-shipper. I sell tons of basketball jerseys and cards to them and have never once had an issue. They seem to mostly be buyers from Asia. They are often based in Oregon and sometimes Delaware because there is no sales tax. I actually like shipping to them because once it's delivered there your transaction is complete and eBay will not hold you accountable for anything after that.

I agree that the buying pattern is bizarre. Those sets you're selling are not regular sets that would be in demand. Has to be the same customer on multiple accounts, so it seems like a hack job of some sort. Might be worth having ebay look into. Especially because any sane buyer would still attempt to combine shipping on all those cards from the same set purchased at the same time.

Could be someone (maybe dropshipper/business, if that matters) with a bunch of accounts trying to build up feedback, and using ebay coupons when they become available. You can create an automatic account with Facebook, Google or Apple (ebay used to give a $5 coupon for signing up, but not sure if they still do). So not tough to have a bunch of accounts.

If they are paying for their items, I don't see an issue.
