What is the best practice to scratch off the code without butchering the code? Just spent 20 minutes taking pictures and blowing up the code 100x to finally decipher it! Do better Topps, this has been an issue for a long time!

I wish I had an answer. I have tried different levels of pressure with several different scratching devices. I can't seem to get anything to consistently do the trick. However, when I can't seem to get it removed without damaging the code, I hand it to my wife, who somehow magically gets it cleanly scratched off every time. Must just need a woman's touch.

Use a dime which has a smooth edge and go slow, starting in a corner to see if you will experience paper loss.

I was careful and still mangled one recently. (Luckily I took some pics while I did it, and managed to piece together six of the characters and guess the rest after a couple of tries.) Topps have recognised the problem, and said they’ve taken it up with their manufacturer. |
