"What's the lowest you will go on this?"
Really? Literally the only question a customer can ask that irritates me. C'mon man. Sorry, just had to vent. |

If my price is within reason, say" I think my price is fair, but you are welcome to submit an offer"

What's the highest you'll pay is the appropriate answer.

My asking price is listed, or YOUR best offer. I don't bid against myself.

Sometimes a buy it now with no best offer is a bit high and i message the seller with the best offer i can.
Sometimes when a card (with no best offer) has been on ebay for a long time, i message the seller: "any chance of a bit discount, the card has been for x amount of days and im interested" But definitely will never ask: "What's the lowest you will go on this?" |

I would just answer the question.
Firm, all offers will be considered, no discounts at this time, percentage off, not taking offers, etc. This is a "good" problem to have imo. Someone is interested in your item. |

I don't discuss pricing via messages - I tell them to offer and we go from there (or just ignore it which seems to be the go-to lately)

If the item has a Best Offer feature I always tell people that we are accepting best offers and they are more then welcome to utilize this feature and send an offer over and see we can work out a deal. Typically they never make an offer...

Best answer.
Some buyers are unstable and are fishing for someone to be condescending to them or to return with a response they do not like. Responses to non-rational people will increase the chance that your store becomes a target, or a best, you getting underserved feedback. May sound crazy, but it happens all the time. |

This is easy. If my listed price is $200 and someone asks what my lowest price is I tell them "Well I was hoping to get $400 for it but I'm willing to go down to $200 to sell it now".

That or What is the most you will give me for it!!! As I'm not sure if I will go down any as of now.
