I always wonder who these niche products are for. Is this for Sylvester Stallone fans? Rambo fans? Movie fans? It certainly isn't for card fans because the base set and insert sets are little more than an afterthought.

Some of the relics look like they're cut from movie posters. Imagine paying $160 for a box and you get a card with a tiny square from movie poster. There's a card with a piece of a prop rifle used in one of the Rambo movies. Did Sylvester Stallone touch it? Was it seen on screen? And why include gemstones? I haven't watched any of the Rambo movies in years so if there's a connection between the movies and gemstones, I don't remember it.

I guess I just don't understand the appeal of this.

Honest answer to your question: there was a guy here on BO that had Rambo as his avatar. I’m guessing that might be one customer for this product. However, there’s also a non-zero chance that guy is making this product.

When it comes to storyboards I’d rather have the original than cut up pieces but that’s just me. Not for me but I find it cool that there is interest to make them regardless how niche of a product.

I'm with you, I don't get it. The box might be the coolest part.

It is indeed hard to believe that the population of specific collectors who would be drawn into a higher-end product like this is large enough to justify its release.

We are basically 40 years removed from the Rambo franchise being an en fuego property. I think it is neat in concept, and I could easily see a set along these lines making sense for something like, say, the Halloween horror franchise that has wider iconic appeal and has actually been able to successfully maintain relevancy with younger generations through the years. But I agree, who is buying this, exactly?

To be fair the last two Rambo movies were both solid hits. But the last one was like 5 years ago.

Well, Stallone has a store where he sells a lot of merch with stupid prices ... this would be one more thing he could sell. https://www.slystalloneshop.com/

Bruce Lee site also has boatloads of merch and sells their boxes, too.

I'm disappointed that site isn't pushing "Cliffhanger" gear, that was a banger.
