Default history of cards inserts and evolution thread discussion

wondered if you folks would want to discuss the development of sports card inserts.
from day one they were insert /advertising premiums.
when cards were more established the floodgates opened.
various coins, game oriented playing style cards, posters ect ect were issued bytopps ect.
which continues to this day.
placed in vintage because the initial history starts here.
if anyone wants to discuss or share pics?
blowout style........
might be a fun thread?

I’m not sure if I’m 100% right on this. How ever with hockey cards I believe the first 2 Inserts were

1990-91 Pro-Set Hologram of the Stanley Cup /5000
1991-92 Pro Set Patrick Roy auto /1000

Topps had "Hockey Bucks" inserts in their 1962-63 set and stamps in their 60-61 set. Sticker stamps in 70-71, Glossy inserts in 76-77 plus more inserts in the 70's and 80's.

O-Pee-Chee had stickers inserts in 68-69 and Four in Ones in 69-70. Posters in 71-72 and several others in the 1970's.
