How is "WILT CHAMBERLAIN UPPER DECK CENTURY LEGENDS EPIC SIGNATURES GOLD AUTOGRAPH #/100"

A bad title? All you need is Wilt in the title and you are good.

I think he was referring to the title having autograph vs auto. Personally I never do a search with out using auto* which would pick up both, but I can see many other people just searching for "wilt upper deck auto" or even just "wilt auto"

I search Wilt Auto but also check for autograph. People tend to value that card around $3.5k so the end price isn't that unexpected. Great card, one of his best ever of course. Makes me wonder what my damaged Epic Sigs would fetch, not that I'd sell it. Wilt Autos are just going up and up and up.

the fact that this guy started it as a .99 cent auction with no reserve is just awesome. people always worry that they wont get enough for the card if they list like that...but just like in situations like this, i have found that more often then not, .99 cent auction is the way to go

Thats not necessarily true about going up. I remember the regular version of this went for $2200ish a few months ago, then just last week one went for under 2k.

Both ended good times, good titles, etc

about 10 years ago on ebay half the autos were either listed as auto or autograph, or even autographed, it morphed over to about 98% "auto" now..
same with rc and rookie with "rc" being the super predominet one now..

WILT CHAMBERLAIN 99-00 UPPER DECK CENTURY LEGENDS EPIC SIGNATURES AUTO | eBay

This one is rigged too!

The seller is that fool with the Jordan inserts... "Godlovesworld"

They've been @#^*&(*# around with Chamberlain auto price for YEARS!!! No different from Jordan 90's inserts.

This listing I just provided only proves that this dbag also messing around with Chamberlain prices and not just Jordan as has been proven before.

Gio..... seriously...

You can't take anything that godlovesworld does seriously, but you try FINDING a Wilt auto, and then see how many people are willing to bid over $2k to get one! When I finally had enough money to buy one I asked those people I knew who had one if they'd sell. Most were unwilling or wanted $2200 or more. It's ACTUAL RARITY that makes these so valuable...

Both sellers and buyers can be fooled from fake sales... that's exactly the point!

If you're a seller and have no clue about fake hype, and don't frequent chat forum to find info, why would you expect anything less than the "true" value that it's selling for?

Also has a bidder, if you have no clue, you would think you need to bid that high to get one.

All it was back then was a few "investors" gathered up as many Chamberlain autos after his passing so that they can create this fake hype. Just like the whole Jordan inserts.

If they would have done this with George Mikan, he too would be selling for 10K...

Wilt is not a rare auto AT ALL. Check out any other item signed by him, like index cards, or even cards that are not certified. They go for 100 bucks or so. Now Maravich would never sell that low because he passed so long before him.

Wilt was hyped, period end of story. Now this "TRUE" price is what morons go after. Both buyers and sellers, both crooked and not.

But whatever... I don't care. Just giving my 2 cents.

Gio, I have always wanted a Wilt auto yet I would have ZERO interest in an index card. He has just the two certified autos (and parallels).
Are you suggesting this seller, who didn't even put 'auto' in the title, so is probably not very onto-it with cards, fixed this price? I think you should take a break from the hobby if so buddy, because it sounds like EVERYTHING is a sham in your eyes.

I was a bit surprised on the price - only because the card looked a bit discolored towards the top. The card has went up drastically in a year or two for some reason..

When you buy a box of 1999 Epic or 1999 Retro thinking you have a fair shot/odds of pulling a Wilt auto as any other auto - your wrong..

Here is some information that collectors might have not known - Number count from an article about Wilt certified Auto's back in 1999 when he passed..

-1999 Epic Signatures Regular Version - only 137 were produced and packed out and of course the Gold's were /100...

-1999 Retro Inkredible Regular Version - only 225 were produced and packed out and of course the level 2 thats numbered to /13..

Maybe even less where inserted into packs and some back doored but I highly doubt it as no one would have known Chamberlain was going to pass and his auto's were going to rise..

Here is what the article stated --

"Upper Deck's 1999-2000 Retro Basketball set includes two different levels of Inkredible insert cards autographed by Wilt. Level one contains 225 randomly-inserted cards, level two has 13 - the same as his uniform number"

"Another current Upper Deck product, 1999-2000 Century Legends Basketball, also has autographed Chamberlain inserts - 137 in an Epic Signature subset, and 100 for an Epic Signature collection with gold-foil stamping"

--Hope this helped..
