Default WWF Magazine - Question

I used to live on WWF magazine back in the 80’s and 90’s. Had to have it

What do you consider the first issue?

I looked online and there was “WWF Victory” that had like 2 issues in 1982 or 1983

Is that still the first one? Or is that like an XRC Jordan rookie? What do you consider the first issue ever of the WWF magazine anyone my age would remember?

I want to buy a CGC for my collection but not sure what wrestling fans consider the first ever issue

I barely understand WWF rookie cards so this one is also perplexing

Thanks!

this looks like it is up to you and your definition (unless you have a guy who can tell you what your definition is)....

these are the first 3 issues you are talking about. the 2 victory magazines have the WWF logo, but are missing the "Official" in the magazine title

You are my guys. That’s the point. Haha

I have severe OCD with this stuff. I have to have issue #1

I’m leaning towards Hogan but Wikipedia is bugging me about it

why not simply collect both and have a complete 2 issue victory run, and then your wwf magazine run.....seems simple enough to me

This hurts my head

Only one can be WWF magazine #1

if that is the case, then it is very obvious...

it would be the third one since the first two are called victory, and the third one is LITERALLY called "Official World Wrestling Federation MAGAZINE"

I’ll take it

CGC shouldn’t call it volume 2 then

That hurts my head

But I’ll allow it

David Peck said it’s Victory. Now I’m confused

this was your orignal statement...

"I used to live on WWF magazine back"

you asked about "WWF magazine"

victory is a magazine published by the WWF, but it is NOT called "WWF magazine"

Victory had one issue in 1982, and one issue in 1983.

"WWF Magazine" started a regular schedule release in 1984....seems simple to me

First magazine by Titan Sports though

I’m not kidding that CGC marking it Volume 2 is a problem for my brain

Which Jordan is the rookie?

I wouldn't sweat the "firsties" here ... they also published programs for a time. Start with/focus on the one you like.

First doesn't really matter that much as the WWWF was around long before this era of print.

Yeah, I was thinking the Victory magazine seemed more like a program / special edition. Definitely not a monthly issue.

Now try and figure out Hulk Hogan's first overall magazine appearance.
There were plenty of different titles in those days (Inside Wrestling, The Wrestler, etc.). It'd be one from mid to late 1979, most likely.
I've got some 80's era magazines in my collection, but none that old.

Pretty obvious given recent events the choice was gonna be Hogan. As stated though the first magazine BY the WWF is Victory, even Google AI manages to correctly state that. The first magazine titled WWF Magazine is the Hogan.

Anyone who wants a cheaper “first” magazine with Hogan on the cover should look into Wrestling All-Stars Heroes & Villains Vol 1 that released a year later in 85. Pretty cool picture with Joan Rivers, also has a small Flair photo and byline which is kind of cool and obviously wouldn’t be on a WWF mag and even says “Can Hulk survive Hollywood” which is kind of a cool prophecy to his later heel run. No I don’t own this mag I just used to see it alot at a LCS and thought it was cool

I used to pick off his covers when cleanly designed. Here are some early ones. Official WWF stuff before the magazines seen here would be on programs if they exist.

1983 ...

1984s ...

1985 ...
